Welcome for the first Book Lovers Convention in New Orleans, LA!!!
I arrived earlier today to the Hyatt Regency New Orleans for the First Annual Book Lovers Convention.
In May of 2018 when RT (Romantic Times) announced Reno was the last convention after 37 years cries could be heard world wide. Literally world wide. Each year readers, bloggers, authors, publishers, librarians and book sellers from across the World would converge for five days of fun filled days.
My first RT Con was in Chicago of 2010 where I got to meet J.R. Ward. It was there that I had the privilege to meet the staff from Fresh Fiction and they provided me with the opportunity to begin writing reviews which has brought me to this day where I'm making a go of it as a blogger for my own website.
After arriving at the hotel I registered and received my reader book bag and a special industry professional bag. (look for more about all the goodies I received). I then made my way up to the Regency Club on the 32nd floor where I've been finishing up my work so that I can enjoy the next 5 days. The club room had the best thing ever... a machine that makes, coffee, lattes, cappuccinos, hot water for tea or hot cocoa, steamed milk and foam. I'm on my second decaf double espresso with a splash of steamed milk, yum! I can see this will be a spot I frequent over the next days and I'm sure I'll be adding a few regular coffees to add a bit of caffeine to my days when I need a pick me up.
BLC kicks off tonight at 6:30 PM with a Jazz Fest Party with a live Jazz Band, Food trucks and of course dancing, lots and lots of dancing. Tonight's party is hosted by Authors: Melody Anne, Pam Binder, Lexi Blake, Will Chapter, Tina DeSalvo, Christine Feehan, R.L. Merrill, Terri Osburn and Karen Rose.
Well I better get going so I can start having fun and brining you all the details!!!
