I woke up this morning to a bright sun shining day in Seattle Washington. Today is travel day. Today I will board a plane and head to St. Louis Missouri for work. The act of travelling for work is unremarkable. The fact the sun is shining…well that is a little unusual considering the recent weather, but it isn’t what is momentous about today either.
So, what makes today different? Well it’s the day I officially relaunch my website Latte Addicted Reader. Today I relaunch Mobile Mondays. Mobile Mondays will be a place to discuss what to listen or read during your commute. I hope to have some funny work travelling stories to share and best of all I’m going to be providing reviews and recommendations for coffee and coffee shops across the nation.
Today’s trip began with an Uber ride to SeaTac Airport. Followed by a quick trip through TSA security check. Once I arrived at my gate I had just under two hours to sit and wait. I opened the audiobook I’ve been listening to during my commute to/from work for the last week or so. Now that I’ve finished the audiobook, I wanted to share my review with my readers. So here it goes, Welcome to Mobile Monday’s first audiobook review.
You Slay Me: Aisling Grey, Guardian Book 1 by Katie MacAlister
Narrated by Barbara Rosenblat; Listening Length: 10 Hours 32 Minutes (Unabridged)
Aisling Grey is making her first trip as a courier for her Uncle Damian an antiquity dealer to Paris France. Aisling (pronounced Ash-ling) arrives in Paris with the one of a kind treasures hoping to deliver it to her uncle’s client and maybe see at bit of Paris while she’s at it. Aisling task is simple, deliver the aquamanile to Madame Deauxville and then return home to America. What could possibly go wrong?
While Aisling has the best of intentions, upon her arrival to Madame Deauxville her straightforward trip becomes anything but simple. Aisling finds the client she is supposed to deliver the antique to is dead and a sexy stranger steals her aquamanile. Suddenly Aisling is thrust into the paranormal world, finds out she is a guardian and the hunky stranger Drake Vireo is a real-life dragon.
You Slay Me is a lighthearted novel with witty narration provided by Barbara Rosenblat and playfully erotic scenes. The story is quick and lively. Each time I arrived to work or my home I dreaded turning it off. Occasionally I pulled into my parking space and sat in my car just listening to a little more.
Katie MacAlister has struck gold with this first book of her Aisling Grey Guardian series. MacAlister’s clever story line and her portrayal of the amusing character of Aisling captured my attention immediately. You Slay Me is humorously entertaining and I couldn’t wait to see what topsy-turvy trouble Aisling was going to get into next. I look forward to listening to the next book in the series, Fire Me Up.
